The GMA Gospel Music Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is set for tonight, Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 7 p.m. CST at the Trinity Music City Auditorium in Hendersonville, Tennessee. This year's inductees include Aretha Franklin, Dallas Holm, The Hoppers, Rex Humbard, Ricky Skaggs and Love Song.
The evening will be hosted by Jason Crabb and Jaci Velasquez. Dailey & Vincent, Dottie Peoples, Gordon Mote, Greg Long, The Isaacs, Jamie Grace, Michael W. Smith and The Talleys are among the artists, who will help to honor the evening's inductees.
"It is great to see our Christian and gospel music communities come together to pay tribute to this year's GMA Gospel Music Hall of Fame inductees. It is an honor to recognize our trailblazers and remind the world of the people God has used to spread the gospel through music," said Jackie Patillo, Executive Director of the Gospel Music Association and President of the Gospel Music Foundation, in a press release.
The GMA Gospel Music Hall of Fame has inducted more than 150 members since its inception in 1971. Prior inductees include Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Elvis Presley, Mahalia Jackson, Amy Grant, DeGarmo & Key, The Statler Brothers, The Winans, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Andrae Crouch, Sandi Patty, Dottie Rambo, Andrae Crouch & The Disciples, Vestal Goodman, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Shirley Caesar, The Oak Ridge Boys, The Blackwood Brothers, Petra, Larry Norman, Bill Gaither, Gloria Gaither, among others.
This year marks the 39th anniversary of the GMA Gospel Music Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. At press time, it was not confirmed if Aretha Franklin would be in attendance. Admission to the event is free and open to the public. Distinguished guests will arrive on the red carpet before the start of the ceremony.
